CARE TEAM
"I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me": - Philippians 4:13
    The Care Team will initiate a few changes in 2011.
  • Next Meeting: January 27
  • We will meet monthly on the 4th Thursday of each month from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
  • The Prayer List will be revised every quarter beginning in January. We need to keep it current.
  • Please contact the church office or a Care Team Member if prayer requests need to be added or deleted.
The Care Team of FUMC is committed to the "care" of the church congregation and their families.
    In order to accomplish this we:
  • Send cards to those who are ill, undergoing surgery, need encouragement, or have a death in the family.
    •    
  • Send welcome notes to visitors.
    •    
  • Stay in contact with members who have missed three consecutive Sundays to determine if they may have care needs.
    •    
  • Uplift spirits of those who are home bound, in hospitals, or in nursing homes through visitation.
    •    
  • Serve Communion to those who request it.
    •    
  • Provide casseroles to those who need a hot meal.
The Peaceful Quilters are part of the Care Team who make baby quilts for infants of church members.

CALLING ALL STITCHERS AND QUILTERS

The Peaceful Quilters meet monthly. We make quilts for babies baptized here at FUMC. We also make and provide lap quilts for the Kairos Ministry, shut-ins, and those in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Even if you do not quilt we would love to have you join us. We need ladies to wash, iron, cut, and sort fabric. If you want to learn to quilt, we'll teach you. Please contact Sue Jeffries if interested at memawquilts@gmail.com.

The Care Team is always in need of new ways to care for our congregation. If you have any new ideas or would like to be part of this group, contact the church office or email Sue Jeffries.
