It might be of use if, while we read (the Bible) we were frequently to pause, and examine ourselves by what we read, both with regard to our heart and lives,...and whatever light you then receive, should be used to the uttermost, and that immediately. Let there be no delay...So shall you find this word to be indeed the power of God unto present and eternal salvation.

The Very Living Word of God
How’s your bible reading going? I know that you are being blessed by getting into God’s word and allowing God to speak to you!!! I have really enjoyed everyone’s comments about how they are loving reading along with the sermons.
A number of people in our congregation are reading through the bible in a year. You can follow along in your bulletin or in the newsletter! Isn’t it crazy to think that if you just read three chapters of the bible a day than you will have read the whole bible in a year.
If you are not reading your bible daily than I challenge you to start. If you do not want to read the entire bible than start with Luke and then go to Acts. It doesn’t matter where you start. Just start reading. If you would like a different reading plan then let me know, and I can get you any number of reading plans.
If you have trouble understanding the version of the bible that you have, we have bibles available in the church office. The version that I like is the Life Application Study Bible in the New Living translation. It is an easy to understand translation and the notes apply to your everyday life. The bibles are thirty dollars. Just come by the office during the week or find me after church.
I hope and pray that everyone in our congregation will be spending some time each week reading God’s word. The bible tells us that God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths. Let the light of God speak to you and challenge you this year!!
Grace, Peace, and Godspeed,
Mark
