Mission Statement
At First United Methodist Church of Gonzales we believe God desires us to minister and share his love
with others outside the walls of the church.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was in prison and you
came to visit me. The king will reply 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine, you did for me'"
Mathew 25:35-36,40
Putting our faith into action is at the heart of our Christian calling. Through Missions everyone
has the opportunity to serve and share the love of God in ways which make a Christian difference.
Most Mission volunteers, as disciples of Christ, have returned with more than with which they left.
They returned with life changing experiences and renewed Christian lifestyles.
If you want to put feet to your faith, we hope you take a moment, look into your heart and consider
opportunities to reach out to others in Christian love and service.
